Sir Michael Grant of Grant, Bt.
Born and brought up in Edinburgh, his childhood was spent there and in West Wittering, Sussex. 
His late father, Patrick, was the 32nd Chief and mother, Olive, was also a Grant, from Norfolk. James, the 33rd Chief, was his elder half-brother.
Educated at Harrow School and Oriel College, Oxford, MA History. 
A Chartered Surveyor by profession (MRICS), Michael worked principally in London and Dubai in Real Estate Project Development and Asset Management.
Now retired, his interests include Clan Grant, history, tartan, architecture, cars (old and new), walking, wine, food, sailing and meeting people/socialising. 
Well-travelled including Europe, the USA, Middle East, Asia, Australia and Africa. 
His time is now divided between Scotland, Sussex/London and Thailand, as well as supporting the Clan at Scottish and International Gatherings.
