Heritage & Global Diaspora
Clan Grant Beyond Scotland
From the 18th century onward, members of Clan Grant joined the wider Scottish diaspora. Economic change, military service, and opportunity abroad carried the name across the globe. Like many Scots who dispersed across the globe, Canadians of Scottish descent form one of the largest Scottish populations outside of Scotland, with an estimated 4.4 million Canadians tracing their roots to Scotland. Clan Grant, along with many other clans, continues to thrive in Canada today, with families spread across this vast country. The mission of the Clan Grant Society of Canada is to unite people with the surname Grant, as well as associated families, cadets, and septs.
